Boy Princess is a pulse-quickening tale of swords and sorcery, far-away kingdoms, and the fairest princess in all the land. Except...this is a fairy tale with a twist. When a prince's soon-to-be-bride elopes two days before their wedding, her desperate family dress up their young son and send him to get married in her place. With his deep blue eyes and flowing blond hair (and strategically placed apples), nobody bats an eye at the pretty pubescent standing before them. But how long can he keep up the charade? Despite the odds stacked against them, the two princes share adventures and intimacies in a story filled with imagination and visual delight.
Volume 9 Chapter 5 is a separate short story - The Last Thing to Do - starring familiar characters in modern time.
NICOLE
Nicole is a young prince who weds Prince Jed in a neighboring kingdom in the place of his eloped sister, Pricess Elena. He may be confused at times, but is definitely a sweet boy who wins Prince Jed's heart.
JED
Jed is the second born and a direct blood heir of his kingdom. He has a charismatic yet cold personality, but can be immensely warm to someone he loves. He considers it a trivial matter when he finds out that he has married a boy.
DERIK
Derik is the first born and the crown prince of the kingdom. He tries to hold back Jed from taking the throne.
SHAHI
One of the mysterious Herot tribesman, Shahi is works as an apothecary at Jed's palace. Prince Derik, the oldest and the crown prince, has Shahi as a hostage.
REINY
Princess Reiny is Jed's younger sister and the only princess in the palace. She has a smart tomboy who loves to tag along after Jed.

not good enuf boring very very dry maybe you should acually ask a gay person on their opinion about male on male love that would help i think (no offence to those who are homosexual)
Boy Princess kind of leaves me hanging, Jed and Nicole don't have enuf interaction, although I'm only on vol 3. I found the story line hard to follow at times and though the art is lovely at times it was hard to tell the characters apart. It's OK I hope it gets better. Cute idea.
Some interesting ideas in this story, but I found it challenging to follow at times.
Similarly, the characters were complex and obviously well thought out, but in most cases I couldn't understand their motivations or feelings well enough to really "bond" with them.
There were some exceptions of course - some of the supporting characters had a bit more humour to them which made them easier to warm to.
I know this is meant to be a serious drama/romance, but I felt it needed a few more fun moments.
The artwork is undeniably pretty. Some of the costume designs are visually stunning, and the countless panels depicting flowing hair and graceful limbs do make for a visual buffet if you're into that sort of thing.
Worth a read for fans of shonen ai, but not really my cup of tea.
I really enjoyed the bizarre thing with the herot tribe. So I understand that to be a mother all they need to do is sleep with an outside woman but that will be so hard if you really love that woman. But how do you stay a man? You just have to have sex within your own tribe? See i don't get that. . .But Shahi slept with a man therefore he can't be a woman anymore. I am confuse with that little bit. . but otherwise it is a good read. Recommend it.
I loved the art the most to be honest. The story was pretty good. I just wish there was a bit more lovin! I might just have to buy this in print I loved the art so much.
