Korea's most talked-about series in recent years!
Born into a shaman family, Sunbi has inherited the power to see and communicate with spirits just like her grandmother, a notable shaman and savior of their little fishing village in the South Sea. Early on, she sees things like an imposter shaman being thrashed by a dragon of the deep, and doesn't understand that none of her schoolmates can see such things. Her powers make her the amorous target of hedonistic demons even as a child. Long shielded from the reality of her power, she finally learns the secret of her mother's death, and why her grandmother was never able to leave their village.  Enter Sunbi's world in this mind-boggling psychological chiller!

Excellent

I only read this for the first time two days ago and already I'm hooked. Fantastic story full of spirits and fairytales, with both depth and humour.

Very nice

At least the text reads better in this title. The syntax isn't quite right but it's not bad to the point of being unreadable. I'll definitely see about buying this one.

Simply Brilliant

Dokebi Bride could very well be the best manhwa title you haven't heard about. This is a story about history, about family and about messeges. The history goes back thousands of years. But with every new year more people have forgotten that history. This is the history of humanity and its connection to their land and each other. The family is one straddling the worlds of the living and dead. Family means history here and SunBi cannot let go of either despite all the pain both give her. The message is clear. Life now is noisy, crowded, lonely and dark. The cast here has to deal with these issues alone as they have opened their hearts to family and history.

As a reader, I had to sympathize with the lead because she did not deserve to go through so much suffering. At the same time I realized this was something she could have only done alone. And because this is a story about death and growing up I felt Marley's story was very apropos to how many people feel when going through such painful transitions in life.

The art might not be to my liking but the packaging and contents are make up for it.

Lotus Blossom...

The story is poignantly beautiful, like an unfurling sweet scented flower with stark contrasts in vivid red, and yet darkly tragic as well, with ominous undercurrents of something yet to come; all the while still preserving the fragile vein of Oriental folklore. It is hauntingly ensnaring, be aware that you will lose youself in its beguiling depths as deep and ponderous as the abyss which disquiets the timid heart. It has the pulchritude of a piquant Ming vase of long ago whose colors have faded yet remain eternally impregnanted upon the shallow surface, spanning lifetimes with the recherche swirls of delicate obsidion. Just so is Dokebi Bride, utterly enthralling, wedded not in form but to surrealism.
