Introduction
Reviews
Presenting the fourth volume of NETCOMICS Manhwa Novella Collection—an anthology of the most prominent Korean authors and their works in which every page blazes with uniqueness and originality! Volume 4 of this ground-breaking series offers two supernatural takes on love and longing.

THE DEVIL'S TRILL: In 18th-century Germany, Count Eichner
Wittgenstein is tall, dark, dreamy... and undead. But being a vampire
doesn't stop him from recognizing his one and only love in the
beautiful young Elizabeth, who also happens to be married to another
man. Tragedy separates the two--or does it? Flash forward some 200
years, to Berlin in the late 1990s, when the Count--now a sleekly
modern patron of the arts--comes under the spell of a young woman with
something eerily familiar about her. But fate intervenes again,
delaying the final reckoning between the Count and his soul mate until
well into the 22nd century! A heady mix of supernatural scares and
heartfelt longing, THE DEVIL'S TRILL is swooning Gothic romance in
the best Anne Rice tradition.

THE MAGIC BOX: Diamonds may be a girl's best friend, but there are some
things in life are more precious still. And sometimes you need TWO
lifetimes to learn this valuable lesson!

tri-part love

I was happy with how the first story turned out. I liked that it went through three time periods. Usually, these through-time stories stop at the 2nd meeting, but I liked how it was carried through to the third. I also appreciated the character development of the lead female. All three stories had a unique touch, and not something tried and bland. The second story, however, was...bla. And to end the whole novel on a bittersweet ending--not a smart move, in my opinion.

All that build-up...

for a pretty lackluster ending. There was so much drama at the beginning that I was disappointed with the way things turned out. I found myself flipping pretty quickly through the 2150 AD story just to get to the end. The last story was okay but it was just filler.

I won't say this was a total stinker because the art was lovely.
