Haeyoon Suh is a scrappy, cute 18-year-old who's attached at the hip to the slick Sungmoo Kang. Sungmoo, the easygoing, compassionate and carefree best friend of Haeyoon's brother, Haeil, has always been the person Haeyoon turns to. For everything. Ever since they were children, Sungmoo's been there to comfort Haeyoon when Haeil goes into overdrive with the discipline, but as the years wore on, the three boys have grown apart. With Sungmoo trying to keep the conflicted Haeyoon at arm's length, Haeyoon can't help but feel his heart breaking. Just when things couldn't get worse, Wooje Kim, the school bad-ass, has set his sights on Haeyoon...
Vibration Life was originally published as donginji (doujinshi) in Korea.
Chapter 1 thru 4 collects the three donginji books published so far.
At least one more chapter is planned for release within 2008. We will update as soon as it becomes available.
This title will be published in print format in the first half of 2009.
Haeyoon Suh
Haeyoon is a bit of a virgin when it comes to expressing emotions. A troubled high school teen, he's constantly seeking an outlet to vent his pent-up feelings, but ends up finding himself in trouble or lost and wandering in a cold world. The biggest source of his anxiety was, and still is, when he began having little hints of emotion for Sungmoo, his older brother's friend. He's unsure whether or not he just idolizes the man who has always been so kind to him, or if the feelings growing within his heart are truly something more.
Sungmoo Kang
The best friend of Haeil, Sungmoo has always had a soft spot for Haeyoon. In stark contrast to Haeil's authoritarian way of dealing with Haeyoon, he's prone to spoiling the boy, often buying him things, defending him when Haeil's suffering from his crippling "brother complex," or bailing him out (sometimes literally) when he needs it the most. Sungmoo's stood by Haeyoon for the better part of his life, but lately he's grown distant as his own life is beginning to go a different direction.
Wooje Kim
A classmate of Haeyoon, Wooje is known for his Mafioso dad and his nasty temper. As a school bully, he's terrorized other students with impunity, since no one really wants to discipline the child of a mafia leader. He's a delinquent student and rarely actually shows up to class, but when he does, most steer clear of his wrath. With his sights now set on Haeyoon, the outcome looks rather grim.
Haeil Suh
Haeil is a graduate school student whose hobby is studying. He likes studying. He dreams about studying. He thinks Haeyoon should do more studying, too. Being Haeyoon's big brother, he's taken it upon himself to become the disciplinarian he thinks his slacker brother needs, and he's willing to do it by force, if necessary. When all is said and done, though, Haeil just wants his baby brother to be the best he can—he just has a funny way of showing it.
