I love S-KUN's work a lot, and this piece was beautifully written. The ending had potential to be mysterious, bittersweet, and leave us wanting more, but I think the ending failed in all counts. I just felt like it was dropped randomly, like the artist just didn't feel like drawing anymore.
It really bothers me. That's this story's one downfall.
I finally got internet back, so I was able to read Let Dai again, and I came here to find the series completed!!
And what an ending!
My god, it's like something right out of Winter Sonata!! Very Korean-Drama, yeah? haha. I loved it.
I agree with a few of the previous posters--I'd love to see one of the pictures Jaehee sent--even if it only implies that he found Dai, and doesn't directly show Dai in the picture, you know?
I wish I knew why that guy couldn't show his eyes to Jaehee. Was he the bartender guy, perhaps...?
I am very pleased with how Sooyeon was able to pull everything together for a beautiful and fitting final manhwa.
Like Sunseaukoe, I was glad to see less of Jaehee and a stronger focus on what's going on with Dai. I particularly enjoyed how Dai spoke with everyone--with the gang-duo, he seemed friendly and I was glad to see him ask about Jaehee; and with Dai-Oxin, he was incredibly cool; with the teacher, he seemed very irritated but still cool.
All that aside, I'm bothered that Dai-Oxin is even a character. Bringing in a new character like that in the second-to-last volume of a Boys Love manhwa is just stupid. This is when things should be building toward a final climax, wrapping up, getting incredibly interesting... And all I feel is drained. This manhwa is dragging on and on with side-stories. A mean, a phase in a series of side-stories is understandable, but it almost feels like the majority of this manhwa is built of side-stories, with a serious lack of true substantial time spent together in regards to Jaehee and Dai. Although Dai is directly related to what's going on with Dai-Oxin, I'm still bothered that Dai-Oxin is getting so much screen-time. Even without granting Dai-Oxin so many panels, Sooyeon Won could have accomplished Dai-Oxin's purpose. It's pointless to have Dai-Oxin and his allies rambling on about their plans to this degree. I consider this is a side-story because of that.
The teacher annoys me. I wonder if she's supposed to be the voice of reason, or moral. I hope that's not the case. I hope Dai, or Jaehee, or someone teaches her a lesson about reality. She is far too arrogant for my tastes (though it may be indirect on her part).
Still, this manhwa has potential.
I'm getting more and more afraid as I read each chapter, however, that Dai and Jaehee will not be together at the end of all this.
I'm worried, but I'll try to stay optimistic; there have been great moments in the past of this manhwa.
I can't explain it that well, but I didn't really like this chapter much.
I thought the fact that Dai said "Don't call." was a regression to a previous state of matters that he had seemingly overcome. Because it's now apparent that he hasn't actually overcome the power his father has over him, he seems pathetic--yet again. I'm sad to see the story repeat itself.
To top it all off, it was kind of a boring chapter. There was, of course, a degree of tension-build-up, but that's been going on for awhile, and I feel like, "god, when's the climax?!" or more along the lines of, "can't Sooyeon Won think of something new?!"
Jaehee's corny dialogue really got on my nerves this time, too.
Seeing Hwahae jealous over Jaehee's relationship with Dai was great, though. It was fun and cute.
I think its cool that Naru is getting tattoos, but his conversation with the tattoo artist was laaaame. Seriously. It was obvious that her questions were set up so that we'd have the answers to the questions we had about his tattoos. Sooyeon Won could have been more discreet, is what I mean. But it was a good scene anyway. :)
Yoo Lee scared me a little. I wonder what kind of guy he'll turn out to be. And Yooneun should feel pathetic--because she is pathetic!
And finally, Jaehee and Dai together again!! I want to know how their time together was spent. ;) haha. What a super cute scene between them. I wanna have Dai answer those questions. He avoided answering them deeply. haha
Okay, I knocked off one star because the side-story was utterly boring. His dad died--too bad, so sad.
The only part I found interesting was that Naru decided to drop out! Gasp! What will that mean for Jaehee?!
And the ending.. So perfect. Cliffhangers are the greatest!
But I'll have to admit that I'm worried the next chapter will just be some other side-story we have little interest in, with Dai and Jaehee at the very end, separated again.
The first chapter was alright, but not enough to keep me going. I'll look at Volume 2's 1st chapter, since it's a different story as I understand. Maybe I'll like that one better.
The art is so distractingly ugly.
On top of that, the story is like thrown together, and moves really fast, and is completely uninterestingly.
This is just a bad story.
